Wedding Photography Scotland – Alan Hutchison describes his wedding photography style, a blend of photojournalism and fashion – “Weddings with WOW”
“Weddings with WOW“ is the phrase we like to use to describe our style of wedding photography. That’s a bold statement, but we believe we live up to it, and that’s our promise to you.
Weddings with WOW is a combination of wedding photojournalism to truly capture your wedding day story, and a blend of fashion-inspired contemporary photography – two very different genres that we have successfully managed to combine to create the perfect wedding photography package.

For the majority of your wedding day we are shooting in Wedding Photojournalism (or “reportage”) style – as members of the Artistic Guild of Wedding Photojournalists Association (AGWPJA.com) – we know how to truly capture that special moment: when thing going on behind your back that you weren’t aware of; the special look that you exchange with your new husband on your wedding day; that touching moment as the kids play on the dance floor. This is done in a way that is unobtrusive, to ensure your guests are not aware of the cameras and therefore ensuring natural reactions and emotions are captured.
When it comes to the “traditional” (and we use that term loosely) photographic session, (after the wedding ceremony and before the wedding breakfast) – we flip things on it’s head and switch to a style of photography that sets us apart from other photographers – this is our Weddings with WOW time.

We’ll spend some time with you both to set up some beautiful and stunning wedding photographs that anyone would be delighted to hang on their wall. We’ll utilise lighting techniques that many other photographers would shy away from to make your wedding photographs stand out from the crowd. Then we’ll shoot the “formal” family group shots in a way that properly reflect you and your family.
When the dancing begins we will professionally light your dance floor to properly capture the ambience of the venue and capture the emotion of your first dance and the fun of the dance floor as your guests start to relax and let their hair down.
With our variable weather Wedding Photography in Scotland can be challenging, so we also ensure we have thoroughly researched a venue to plan for a wet wedding day – when that occasionally happens we are prepared for it and you will still have beautiful wedding photographs. As qualified photographers (Alan holds an Associate qualification with the SWPP – the second highest level of qualification available) and winner of the SWPP Members’ Choice Wedding Photographer of the Year 2010, you can be sure your wedding photography and your memories are in safe hands.
To give you a little taste of our Wedding Photography style, we created a special video entitled, of course, “Weddings with WOW“. We hope you enjoy it.
