Laura and Ollie’s Anglo-French Wedding at Stirling’s Logie Kirk

Mid-July us saw us at a local Stirling venue for the Wedding of Laura and Ollie.  Last time I photographed Laura and Ollie was for their pre-wedding shoot and they were upstaged by their extremely cute dog Sam.   No chances of that today however, as Sam was with the dog-sitter and everyone’s attention was focused on the stunning Bride and Groom.

The ceremony was held at Logie Kirk Church which is a small traditional Scottish Church (or “Kirk“) sitting in a lovely spot at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Stirling.   Sadly photographers (and videographers) are only allowed to shoot from the balcony during the main ceremony at this church, but with our long lens we were still able to get some nice photographs of the key parts of the wedding ceremony.   Then it was off to the wedding reception which was being held at Stirling Management Centre in the grounds of Stirling University.

This was yet another Anglo-French wedding, as Ollie (or Aurélien to give him his full name) hails from France.   There was a very large French contingent who made it over to Scotland for the wedding.  One of the highlights of the day was when the French ladies all burst into song with a traditional French tune apparently often sung at weddings.   Interestingly we had a similar thing happen at our recent Spanish wedding – must be a European thing – mind you I suppose we Scots do the exact same thing with a rendition of Auld Lang Syne often belted out at the end of a Wedding.

Whilst cute dog Sam wasn’t at the Wedding to upstage them, they did overlook the charms (or should I say Glasgow “patter”) of joint Best Man Eric.   Now Eric also hails from France, but has spent a few years living in Glasgow, so has the weirdest French/Glaswegian accent you have ever heard.   Eric and fellow Best Man Nico obviously put a lot of planning into their speech, even to the point of printing up large photographs and graphics to illustrate the “colourful” life of said Groom – of course we know the average Best Man will exaggerate the odd tale or two, but lets just say if Eric was made of wood he may well have a very big nose by now LOL

Anyway it was a wonderful wedding with a wonderful couple – friends and family can view the whole set of images in our clients gallery.

Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.

P.S. We are at the peak of our wedding season so I have a ton of Blog posts to catch up on, so if you have attended one of our weddings recently and are looking for the photographs but don’t see a blog post yet, head on over to the gallery and you will find the images on there. Remember we won’t post a gallery until our Bride and Grooms have seen them first, so you need to wait for them to come back from their honeymoon before they will appear in the gallery. Thank you for your patience.

P.P.S. It’s my Birthday today (the 27th) – woohoo – and Morag’s made me Millionaire Shortbread – my favourite!
