A Fashion Photoshoot in Stirling with Rebecca Pollock and John Denton
Last Monday, I took a day off from Wedding Photography and spent a day shooting fashion style in the company of the delightful Rebecca Pollock, a fabulous model and also a very talented singer/songwriter (she recently supported The Beautiful South on their Tour). I was working alongside fellow photographer John Denton, who was very kindly passing on great tips on lighting and posing for fashion style shots like these shown below.
Shooting Photography in Scotland is always done with one eye on the weather, but on a fashion shoot like this it’s even more critical as you don’t have the luxury of a wedding venue on hand to provide any shelter in the event of a quick shower. Fortunately the weather behaved itself and we had a great day.
We spent some time in one of may favourite “urban” locations in Stirling, before heading out to a more rural location which was an old favourite of mine when I shot a lot of landscape photography, a location that features lots of abandoned buildings and beautiful old textures. Fantastic!
I also had an opportunity to compare my Pocket Wizard radio flash triggers directly with the competing Radio Poppers brand that John uses, and I think it’s fair to say that the Radio Poppers won hands down giving consistent results shot after shot, whereas the Pocket Wizards still seem to have some teething issues to be flushed out.
It was a great day’s shooting and I think I came away with some images to be proud of and hopefully worthy of enhancing Rebecca’s model portfolio. ?What do you think?
Great shots and great locations!

Fairy tale. Fantastic!
Great images, love the colours on the first one! Nice work Alan
Love these. Both the lighting and the mood are amazing. Especially like the one 5th from the bottom.
Very striking images. Great light and brilliant composition. Very well done.
Awesome work Alan! I really love the black and whites. These are so moody and your lighting is superb.
very surreal, crisp, vibrant images. A lot of variety here!
Wow! Very cool shoot! Loved it!
these are beautiful Alan!!!
Beautiful work, Alan. I’d have to say that my favorite is the one with the caution tape and the B&W that follows it, but really awesome all the way.
Alan, these are fantastic. I love the black and white ones in particular.
Every single one of these is an art to itself. AMAZING work, Alan. Well done!!
